Brian is a teacher with 6+ years of teaching experience. In addition to teaching his own private studio, he has also worked with well respected companies in New York, including Forbes Music Company, Tone Music Academy, and Soyulla Artists.
Brian teaches violin, viola, fiddle, piano, and early music development in private and group lessons. The flexibility, curiosity, and diversity of influences that informs Brian's playing is also a foundation of his teaching style. He encourages students to explore the music that inspires them, and strives to create a supportive environment where his students can grow creatively and technically. Brian believes that music lessons can foster a sense of confidence and curiosity in students, and give them insight into the world around them and the ways that art and music influences their daily lives.
Lessons are 30, 45, or 60 minutes long. Brian teaches in his home in Brooklyn as well as in student homes. He travels and teaches in NYC and Westchester.
Brian taught my daughter violin for about two years. He’s a wonderful teacher and person. He has so many great qualities: patient, creative, gentle, enthusiastic, kind, knowledgeable and funny. He shows interest in the student as a whole and always sees the ability. This was important to me as a parent of a special needs child. No musical piece was off limits or unachieveable. He is always encouraging and fun. The duets he plays with my daughter are fun and magical. He brings the music alive! My daughter always looks forward to her lessons with Brian. We are so fortunate to know him, and highly recommend him.
